Generally speaking the major insurers providing private health insurance in the UK do not cover normal pregnancy on even their most comprehensive medical plans. The majority of policies offer a level of cover for complications in childbirth however there are stipulations on many of the plans regarding how long you need to have held the plan before you are eligible to make a claim pregnancy related claim.
It is important to read the insurers terms in full to understand the eligibility criteria and limitations of cover with regards to complications in childbirth as they vary from insurer to insurer.
