Will My Medical Insurance Cover Me for Emergencies?

I am considering taking out a Health Insurance policy and wanted to know whether it would cover emergencies or whether that is still via the NHS?

If you are a UK citizen with a UK Private Health Insurance plan, given the emergency services provided by the NHS, emergency treatment is generally not covered and this will be stated in your policy documents.

Where emergency treatment may be covered under a Private Medical Insurance plan is if the plan is an International Health Insurance policy where many plans provide cover for emergencies up to a monetary limit. Again if you have an international plan it will be documented within your policy details whether there is a level of emergency cover.
