A recent study by LV has shown that for many of Britain's retirees the first five glorious years of retirement might not always be so glorious. The research showed that for many of those retirees they were unexpected life changes which either put a strain on their health or their finances.
A quarter of those questioned stated their health had worsened or they had suffered a serious health problem in the first five years of their retirement. There were many put under financial strain to with 17% saying they had unexpectedly had to dig deep to support family members financially.
More uplifting news, of the retirees 34% celebrated a grandchild being born within the first five years of retirement whilst a further 20% updated or renovated their existing property or garden.
The older we become the more important it becomes to get diagnosed and treated should we suffer a health condition.
