How Can I Find Out Which Hospitals I Can Receive Private Treatment In?

There are a number of good private hospitals in my area and I want to know if I can receive treatment in them if I get a Health Insurance plan?

With any Health Insurance policy the insurers will document the hospitals you are eligible to receive healthcare treatment in on their plans.

Many of the insurers offer a national hospital list which they will provide in a brochure format. This will offer an extensive list of private hospitals throughout the UK.

You may also be able to upgrade your hospital list to an extended or premier list. This is an optional extra providing you with access to additional hospitals where a stay is likely to be more expensive.

The alternative to a set national hospital list is a local hospital list which would provide you with access to hospitals in your local area. Again this will be well documented in the insurer’s brochure and will be broken down by region.

Often choosing a local hospital list will reduce your monthly premiums, particularly if you are based outside of London as hospitals in the capital tend to come at a premium.
