Does Income Protection cover Skiing?
I’m looking at getting income protection cover. Is there a plan i can get that would cover me for my skiing hobby?

Skiing is a fantastic form of exercise. However it can also be a very strenuous sport on the body which can cause injury.
Cover could depend on the type of Skiing you do
Income Protection does generally cover normal holiday skiing. It is important to know that if you are skiing in competitions or are skiing off-piste then insurers will usually exclude this from cover in an Income Protection policy (although some plans will still provide cover so long as you ski within bounds).
The insurers are concerned that if you ski off-piste or in competitions, then there is a higher risk that you may have a serious accident that results in an injury claim being made.
Be as accurate as possible in your application
It is very important to be as honest and accurate as possible when it comes to disclosing leisure pursuits in your application so that in the event that you do need to make a claim, there will be no issues with an insurer paying a claim.
