L&G Launches Spark – A New Way to Access Health and Wellbeing Support

05/09/2025

Legal & General has launched Spark, a digital wellbeing platform. It brings everyday wellbeing tools together with core Group Risk benefits. As a result, employees can find help faster. Meanwhile, employers gain a simpler, single place to direct their people.

The move reflects a growing industry trend: bringing benefits and wellbeing services together into one, accessible experience. It’s part of a wider effort across the market to make employee benefits clearer, more engaging, and easier to use for both employers and their people.

What Is Spark?

Spark offers employees and their immediate families streamlined access to services that are often included in Group Risk policies, but not always well understood or widely used. These include:

  • 24/7 virtual GP and nurse appointments
  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing support
  • Specialist services for cancer, heart health, and menopause
  • Financial and legal wellbeing tools
  • Personalised triage via MatchTech to connect users with the right support.

The goal is to simplify the experience, bringing everything into one digital home, making it easier for staff to understand what’s available and get the help they need.

How Can Employees Access Spark?

The platform is available via mobile, desktop or tablet and is open to all employees within an organisation that holds a Legal & General Group Risk policy. All they need to do is download the Spectrum.life app or head to landg.spectrum.life online.

Why This Matters to Employers

While Spark is specific to Legal & General, it’s part of a much wider movement reshaping the employee benefits landscape.

Across the market, there’s a clear shift towards integration, bringing once-disconnected services together to make benefits more visible, more accessible, and more impactful for the people who rely on them.

This change is being driven by some familiar challenges:

  • Employees often don’t know what’s available to them
  • Support services are scattered across multiple providers and logins
  • Measuring value and outcomes can be difficult without clear data.

Our 2025 Employee Benefits and Workplace Satisfaction Survey found only 36% of employees fully understand their benefits, and just 11% receive regular updates.

Poor communication means many staff could be missing out on valuable support and perks.

Bringing Clarity & Connection to Your Employee Benefits

In response, insurers and tech providers are evolving. We’re seeing more solutions that connect the dots between health, protection, wellbeing and communication, creating a smoother experience for both employers and employees. For organisations, this can mean:

  • Higher engagement and take-up of support services
  • Reduced absence and presenteeism through quicker access to care
  • A stronger employee value proposition, without increasing cost
  • Clearer data to demonstrate impact and ROI to internal stakeholders.

My.Drewberry Your All-In-One Benefits Hub
