Is A Joint Critical Illness Policy Paid In Full Or Split?

I have £100,000 Critical Illness Cover with my partner and wanted to know whether it pays out 50% for each of us should something happen to us or whether is pays out the full £100,000?

A Joint Critical Illness Insurance policy would be paid out on what’s known as the ‘first event’. This means that if you or your partner were to suffer a serious illness or injury covered by the policy it would pay out in full and then terminate.
