About the Employee Benefits Consultant Role

This is a great opportunity for a bright and ambitious individual to join a leading financial advisory firm as an Employee Benefits Consultant.

After initial training, you will be advising business clients over the telephone and face-to-face on the most appropriate insurance benefits for their employees.

Specifically, you will act as the client’s broker for Group Life Insurance (Death in Service), Group Income Protection and Business Health Insurance, arranging cover from all leading insurers in the market.

Potential clients will either have enquired on the firm’s website or have been referred to you from another adviser in our individual insurance or financial planning teams.


Drewberry stands for being the experts in our industry and providing a 5-star service to their clients, and it is expected that all advisers will undertake at least one professional qualification with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), which the company will sponsor.


You can expect to receive the following whilst working for Drewberry:

  • Opportunity to become a professional Employee Benefits Consultant at a leading financial advisory firm
  • Opportunity to gain professional qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
  • Potential to earn sizeable (uncapped) bonuses. Once established in the role, you could expect to earn over £50,000 per annum
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • 24 days paid holiday, plus your birthday and bank holidays
  • Work in an office with a friendly and co-operative culture, with plenty of team social activities.


  • You must currently live in Sussex and preferably around the Brighton area
  • Prior sales experience in health or protection insurance is essential, and preferably within the group / B2B space
  • You must have natural (consultative) sales ability and a hunger to succeed in a professional, detailed orientated environment
  • The successful candidate is likely to have strong grades at GCSE / A-Level. A university degree would be looked at favourably but is not essential.
